Botanical Description

ex Griseb. More or less mat-forming, but in the wild also suberect, with flowering stems 5-15cm long. Leaves suborbicular to rhombic-ovate, up to 1.7cm long, ciliate at base, otherwise glabrous or slightly hairy. Flowers purple, 8-9mm long, in spikes up to 7cm long or shorter and head-like. Mountains of Romania.
