One species of evergreen perennial related to Ophiopogon from south-western China along the Himalaya to Uttar Pradesh.
Suitable for sheltered nooks on the rock garden. Can be damaged or killed in severe winters. Well drained but not dry soil is needed, and a sunny or partially shaded site. Propagation by seed as soon as ripe, or division in spring.
