Botanical Description

ex Bak. Stems 10-30cm or more in height, winged. Leaves shorter to longer, l-4mm wide, often more or less glaucous. Spathes two of about equal size. Flowers 1.4-2cm across, yellow with brown veining, summer. Tierra del Fuego area north to the Rio Negro in Argentina, in grassland, low scrub and sandy beaches: usually where the soil dries out later in the season.
