Botanical Description

Stems 10-20cm tall, flattened and barely winged, branched near the base. Leaves linear, much shorter (usually less than half). Spathes two. Flowers 8-12mm across, pale yellow to almost white with a red-purple eye, summer. Central America to Argentina, naturalised in Australia. Confused in cultivation with S. laxum and S. iridifolium.
