Botanical Description

Fotentilla sibbaldii). Tufted and procumbent from a woody-branched rootstock. Leaves ternate, each leaflet 5-20mm long, obovate cuneate with three tooth-like lobes at the tips, pubescent. Flowers about 5mm across, mainly of green calyx and epicalyx segments with five oblanceolate yellow petals only 1.5-2mm long, in small dense cymes subtended by leafy bracts, summer. Northern Europe, Asia and North America and mountains farther south, in rocky and grassy habitats and screes.
