Botanical Description

Clementsia rhodantha, Rhodiola rhodantha). (10). Herbaceous perennial to 20cm or more tall with a visible, stout caudex. Stems several, erect, glandular-hairy. Leaves numerous, linear-oblong to oblanceolate, sessile, spinach-green, 1.5 by 3cm, entire or few-toothed, each with a median groove. Racemes thyrsoid, very dense. Flowers campanulate, five-petalled with erect, separate, rose-pink petals 8mm long, superficially most unlike a Sedum. U.S.A.; southern and central Rocky Mountains and parts of the Colorado Plateau, over 4000m.
