Very similar to S. laxum and S. obtusatum with prominent rosettes on stout rhizomes. Leaves 1 by 1.5cm, non-lustrous, obovate or oblanceolate, emarginate. Petals yellowish-white. Almost impossible for the amateur to separate from its close relatives. It is a hexaploid with inflorescences over 12cm tall.
