Very similar to S. mucronulata. Leaves without marginal bristles but bearing glandular hairs on the surfaces and margins; those on the stems many, overlapping. Flowers in small clusters, yellow, the petals twice as long as the sepals. Spreads by stolons which are not glandular-hairy. Pakistan to Nepal at 3600-5000m on open slopes. From many points of view it might be better to treat this species and S. mucronulata as subspecies of S. flagellaris as Engler did. See S. flagellaris.
