Botanical Description

Forms tight cushions of rather dense rosettes composed of dark green 4-6mm long spathulate leaves. Flowering stems 2-5cm high covered with red glandular hairs and bearing two to three white, cup-shaped flowers, petals 6-7mm long, bearing two yellow patches surrounded by deep red spots. South-eastern Tibet and eastern Nepal. Has been introduced recently but it is uncertain whether the species is still in cultivation. [Pl.450].
