Botanical Description

Prostrate habit at first, later producing ascending branches to 30cm Leaves oblong-elliptic, 1.3-2.5cm long. Flowers singly or in pairs, widely funnel-shaped, 2.5cm long, mauve-pink or purple. China; endemic to the Doshong La pass in Xizang. R.u. var. imperator is always mat-forming with narrowly funnel-shaped flowers. North-eastern Burma on cliff ledges.
