Authors:
Stems slim, erect, bristly-hairy, 30-50cm tall. Leaves narrowly elliptic to lanceolate, boldly toothed, sometimes channelled and red-flushed. Flowers 2-4cm across, rich yellow, several from the upper leaf axils, summer to autumn. North Carolina to Louisiana and Florida, in moist pinewoods and plains.
