Botanical Description

with a short caudex, 10-20cm in height. Leaves basically three lobed but rounded in outline and much dissected into linear to ovate segments. Flowers usually solitary, to 3cm across, pale pink to red, spring to summer. Oregon to Idaho and Cahfornia to Nevada, in sagebrush scrub and pine-juniper woodland at 910-2250m where drainage is sharp.
