Botanical Description

small clump-forming, about 10cm or more in height, taller in seed. Basal leaves ternate, the leaflets usually deeply lobed. Flowers solitary or in two or threes, 2.5cm wide or more, rich glistening yellow, spring. U.S.A., Idaho to Wyoming south to Nevada, at 2850-3500m, in wet soil as the snow receeds, drying out later.
