Botanical Description

This resembles P. alpina, but the leaves are divided into three leaflets each of which is two to three times pinnate. The stem leaves have short stalks. Flowers creamy-white, flushed blue on the outside. Western North America from British Columbia to Cahfornia and Montana, on dry rocky slopes up to 3000m. A difficult plant in cultivation. [Pl.396].
