A fine Soldanelloides species. Leaves obovate to oblong, deeply crenate to bluntly pinnatifid, rugose, silky hairy beneath, especially on the veins. Flowers deflexed, blue, bell-shaped, the wide petal lobes toothed, four to ten, in a close head on farinose stems 10-15cm high. The border between east Bhutan and Arunachal Pradesh, steep banks, 4300-4900m. Previously grown for many years in the Scottish Highlands, not now grown.
