with ascending white or yellowish woolly stems 20-30cm long. Leaves ternate, the leaflets obovate, coarsely toothed, 2.5-4cm long, silky-hairy above, white woolly beneath. Flowers 1.2-2.5cm in diameter, yellow, in small clusters, summer. North-western North America and Asia, in screes and rock crevices at alpine levels.
