Botanical Description

Low cushion-forming, eventually 30-60cm across in the wild. Leaves in rosettes, linear, 7-11mm long, thickish-textured, entire, weakly and obscurely toothed, adpressed yellowish hairy. Flowers solitary, 3-5mm long on short pedicels, insignificant. Chile, Santiago Province, near the snow line at 3000m or above, rare. Coarser, glabrous and more open habited varieties occur south to Fuegia and the Falkland Islands.
