Parrya menziesii). Tufted, more or less evergreen perennial, 10-20cm tall with a branched rootstock. Leaves mainly in basal rosettes, oblanceolate to spathulate, 4-10cm long, set with small, branched grey hairs. Flowers pink to red-purple, to about 1cm in diameter, in longish racemes, late spring to late summer. Idaho and Washington State to California and Nevada, in sagebrush scrub, pine forest and dry open slopes at 1200-3600m.
