Botanical Description

Stems 20-40cm tall from a branching caudex. Leaves basal, round to ovate, glaucous, glabrous, 7-15mm long by 5-10mm wide. Flowers solitary, on long pedicels, from few flowered thyrsey, 2.5-3.5cm long, blue. White and Inyo Mountains of California, in canyons and outcrops among pinyon-pines, junipers and bristlecone pines from 2450-3450m. Not in cultivation.
