Botanical Description

Single or few stems, 15-50cm tall. Glandular hirsute in inflorescence otherwise glabrous. Leaves with scattered short teeth, sometimes few, up to 12cm long. Flowers glandular hairy on outside, pale lilac or pale violet, 1.5-2cm long. Northern Great Plains, in sandy or rocky soil among grasses. Alberta and British Columbia to New Mexico and Iowa. Willowy prairie plant of limited rock garden value.
