Botanical Description

Stems 20-60cm tall. Mostly glabrous. Leaves entire, oblanceolate to narrowly elliptic, the basal ones up to 15cm long. Cauline leaves 13cm long. Inflorescence of one to several dense, often globose verticillasters. Flowers blue to blue-purple 1.5-2cm long. In wet or dry meadows and on moist open slopes, less often in timber or rocky areas from bases of mountains to timberline. Idaho to Oregon. Another variation among the mint-flowered penstemons.
