Stems 15-45cm tall, tending to be shrubby at the base. Leaves entire, all cauline, 2-7cm long, linear. Flowers 1.6-2.1cm long, bright blue and violet. Sagebrush flats and hills, especially in basaltic areas at 600-1500m. in Idaho and Oregon. Not cultivated.
