Stems 20-50cm tall. Cauline leaves mostly 3-6cm long, basal leaves sometimes to 15cm long. Flowers ochroleucous, 8-12mm long. Calyx segments with broad, erose, scarious margins. Montana and Alberta to British Columbia, Oregon and the Wenatchees of Washington. Fairly moist open or wooded places, often in meadows or along streams, from the lowlands to moderate elevations in the mountains. Easy to grow.
