stems much branched at base, plants to 40cm tall. Leaves entire or partly serrate, glaucous and glabrous, broadly ovate. Flowers 3.3-3.8cm long, lilac to rose-purple, late spring. Endemic to the Columbia River gorge of Washington and Oregon, in dry, rocky places and on cliffs. Of limited use in small gardens.
