Botanical Description

Low cushion-forming, 4-10cm high by 15-30cm across in time. Leaves yellow-green, 4-6mm long, linear, prickle-tipped. North America from Manitoba to Texas, on dry ridges. An interesting addition to the "buns", but probably needs an alpine house. P.s. subsp. pulvinata has denser cushions with prickle-tipped leaves.
