Botanical Description

Bulbous to clump-forming 20-30cm tall. Leaflets obcordate, 3-5cm long, ciliate and softly hairy below. Flowers in umbels of up to ten, purple or violet, up to 2.5cm long, summer. East and South Africa. O.p. var. anthelmintica, syn. O. anthelmintica is more slender, 10-15cm tall. O.p. var. bowiei (syn. O. bowiei) is more robust, hairy throughout and with somewhat larger flowers. South Africa.
