Almost identical to O. poepiggii, but tending to be more variable in size, notably in producing neater, dwarfer forms in the south of its range. It also differs in its often asymmetrical, coarser cut crenate or blunt-toothed leaves sparsely downy beneath. Chile and Argentina, Valdivia to Tierra del Fuego from sea level to 1600m according to latitude.
