Stems erect, corymbosely branched or simple, 15-35cm tall. Leaves slightly sticky, up to 6cm long, narrow, acuminate, with or without a pair of basal lobes. Inflorescence bracts about 1cm long with a pair of slender basal lobes, pink-tipped. Flowers to 1.5cm in length, rose-purple with a white lower lip, mid to late summer. California and Oregon, in open mountain slopes and subalpine forest at 1360-2120m.
