Botanical Description

high by 10-25cm across. Leaves l-3cm long, narrowly awl-shaped, glossy green with a brown tip. Spikelets not exceeding the longest leaves. Southern tips of Argentina and Chile down to Fuegia and the Falkland Islands; also on the mountains of Colombia and Ecuador, in sphagnum and Astelia bogs, wet moorland and stream margins.
