Botanical Description

Tufted to clump-forming, densely leafy. Each leaf usually 15-30cm long by 2-5mm wide but can be larger. Racemes shorter than or as long as the leaves composed of many flowers. Each flower lilac or white, bell-shaped, to 8mm or more across, early summer. Afghanistan to south-west China, in forests and scrub up to 3000m.
