Rhizomatous perennial 40-60cm tall, sometimes more. Leaves 2-10cm long, linear to oblong-lanceolate. Flowers 4-5cm in diameter, white aging pink, summer. North-western North America east to Minnesota, in grassland and open hillsides. For the dwarf yellow-flowered plant sometimes grown as O. nuttallii, see O. tanacetifolia.
