Botanical Description

Stemless rosette-forming perennial to about 7-10cm high. Leaves more or less oblanceolate, 5-20cm in length, prostrate to ascending, deeply runcinate-pinnatifid, with a longish stalk. Flowers pale yellow, 1.5-2.5cm across, summer. Saskatchewan to Mexico at 1000-1600m in moist hollows that dry out in summer, often in sagebrush or light juniper woodland.
