Forming a flat, branching bush to 20cm tall having a woody base and downy throughout with minute, starry hairs. Leaves alternate, cordate, 2 by 1.7cm, crinkly-wavy with large, crenate lobes on rather shorter petioles. Sturdy pedicels 2cm long bear solitary pink flowers to 4cm across with prominent campanulate calyces and obovate petals. Argentina, Patagonian steppe in valleys and on the plateau at 10-500m.
