Botanical Description

Leaves two per bulb, up to 50cm long by 7mm wide, dark green, spreading, flat inner face, striate outer, spreading. Stem elliptical, no keel, 23cm tall. Pedicel 4.5cm long. Flowers two to six, ascending, 1.6cm in diameter, tube 1.6cm long, tepals white, patent, just imbricate, corona white, cup-shaped, crenate, 4mm high by 7mm in diameter. Anthers three in tube, three in corona overtopping style, mid spring. Limestone rock pockets of dry soil in coastal belt of southern France and eastern Spain to Valencia and inland in eastern Spain.
