Botanical Description

Leaves usually two, up to 20cm or more long by 4-6mm wide, fairly bright green and spreading. Stem up to 20cm or more in height. Flower solitary, stiffly pendent, rich yellow, the corona straight sided, 2cm or a little more long, tepals 2cm long, sometimes twisted, sharply reflexed to become parallel with corona, early spring. Northern Portugal and adjacent Spain in moist lowland habitats. Needs moist acid soil to thrive and does well in partial shade.
