Botanical Description

Schultes f. (10). Leaves two to four, 30cm long by about 1cm wide, green or slightly glaucous, erect. Stem compressed, sharply two-edged, 35cm long. Pedicel 2.5cm long. Flowers solitary, horizontal, 10cm in diameter, the tube orange-yellow, 1cm long, tepals whitish or sulphur-yellow (exceptionally darker), deflexed, just imbricate at base, corona medium to deep yellow, almost parallel with little expansion at margin, lobed or dentate, 4cm long, 1.5-2cm in diameter, late spring. High mountain slopes and valleys, Pyrenees. [Pl.286]
