Two or possibly three species of tussock-forming grasses from Europe and Asia.
The one species described could be grown on the rock garden but is more suited to the border or bog garden. Full light is needed and an acid soil which does not dry out. Poor soil will keep the plant small, in rich soil it grows much too large. Propagation by division or seed in spring.
