Widely clump to colony-forming, sticky-downy perennial 30-60cm or more in height. Leaves 2-7cm long, oblong-elliptic, wavy-edged and finely toothed. Flowers 3-5cm long, pink to rose-red bearing darker lines in the throat, often also blotched maroon, with two yellow hairy ridges, summer to early autumn. California to Alaska, Montana and Colorado, on stream banks, often up to montane levels. [Pl.278].
