Flowers solitary and sessile from the upper leaf axils, tubular-campanulate 5-8mm long and wide, with five obovate petal lobes, greyish-blue to pinkish-hlac, darker veined. Soily and stony open slopes at 1500-3300m. A variable species, only the smaller-leaved, more compact forms being worthy of cultivation and even these are by no means choice or desirable.
