Botanical Description

Lindernia japonica). Tufted perennial with stems up to 15cm long. Leaves obovate to elliptic-cuneate, 2-6cm long, the basal ones distinctly stalked. Flowers 1-1.2cm long, white to light purple, the lower lip having two raised yellow bands, in few-flowered clusters, spring to autumn. Japan, the Ryukus, China and India, on river banks and other moist places. Not reliably hardy. For M.j. var. tenuiracemus see M. fauriei.
