Botanical Description

Compactly cushion-forming, 2-6cm high by 15-30cm in diameter. Leaves l-4cm long, densely rosetted. Cymes small and compact, the 2-3mm long flowers dark brown, with or without membranous margins, spring to summer. New Zealand, South Island, eastern side of southern Alps at 1200-2000m in moist places.
