Botanical Description

Robust perennial with several erect stems 30-60cm in height. Leaflets 2-4cm long, oblong to oblanceolate, covered with silvery silky appressed hairs. Racemes dense, to 7cm long. Flowers 1-1.3cm long, blue, lavender or lilac, summer to autumn. Oregon and California, in open and wooded habitats on gravelly soils. L.s. var. ascotinensis has white flowers.
