Usually 30-45cm in cultivation but sometimes much more. Leaves scattered, sometimes in whorls near the top of the stem, 3-6cm long, narrowly lanceolate. Flowers white flushed purplish-pink, one to six, broadly bell-shaped, inclined to nodding, 6-10cm across, summer. North-eastern India (Manipur), on rocky grassy slopes at 2150-2600m.
