Botanical Description

The type plant can reach 1.2m or more in height and is unreliably hardy. L.f. var. pricei is hardier and rarely exceeds 60cm, often much less. It has scattered linear leaves 7.5cm or more long, and solitary, narrowly funnel-shaped flowers. These are white within, reddish-purple without, fragrant and 13cm or more in length, summer. Taiwan at alpine elevations.
