forming solitary compact rosettes of tight clumps, densely white glandular woolly. Leaves elliptic, pinnatisect, 7-15 mm long with nine to seventeen oblong, entire lobes. Flowerheads solitary on stems 5-8cm high, the involucres hemispherical to 1.2cm high, containing about thirty purple florets having rays to 4mm long, summer in the wild. Patagonian Chile and Argentina at 500-1500m.
