Botanical Description

Potentilla gordonii). Tufted, from a woody rootstock, sometimes forming small compact mats, to 15cm tall. Leaves basal, 5-8cm long by 4-16mm wide, the crowded leaflets divided into two to five obovate, puberulent and glandular segments. Flowers yellow, 5-8mm wide, in dense terminal head-like cymes, late summer. Washington State, Colorado and Montana, in subalpine and alpine fellfields, usually dryish rocky areas. [Pl.232]
