Botanical Description

Generally 15-25cm tah, the roots thickened but not markedly tuberous. Leaves broad and rich lustrous green. Flowers 6-7cm in diameter, pale purple to lavender, the falls with a whitish crest and blotched white and flecked deep lavender, late spring, early summer. Russian central Asia. Alpine house but has been grown outside. Rare in cultivation. The plant listed as I.w. 'Alba', is probably a white form of I. bucharica.
