A recently described species about 15cm tall, sometimes more. Leaves 2-5mm wide, falcate. Flowers about 5cm wide, deep purple-blue with paler beards, late spring. Afghanistan, in screes, grassy and sandy slopes at 1150-2200m. For the alpine house, though presently probably unobtainable.
