Botanical Description

van Tuberg. ex Seaby. 5. Approximately 20cm tall as flowering starts, extending to twice this. Leaves 1.5-3.5cm wide, lustrous green above, greyish beneath with a whitish edge. Flowers 6-7.5cm wide, mainly blue, sometimes with a purple suffusion, the falls with a wavy white crest surrounded by a pale, boldly veined zone, spring. Turkestan, probably in open, stony places. Alpine house, but some growers recommend outside culture if screened from excess summer rain.
