Closely related to L uniflorum, this species has only recently been introduced to cultivation. Leaves 20-25cm long, 2-5mm wide. Flowers bright yellow, striped with purple on the outside, 2-2.5cm across, starry, spring. Uruguay, Argentina and southern Brazil, in upland areas. Not fully tested but should prove hardy.
